This blog was inspired by the upcoming birth of our 1st baby Gerritt. Its purpose is to keep our family members and friends informed of the events in our lives. I am a natural birth & attachment parenting advocate. I am a strong midwifery supporter, & after my son's unfortunate experience with circumcision, have become an intactivist. I am also an Adult Nurse Practitioner specializing in Women's Health.

Dora
My 3-year-old daughter Sophia has always loved Dora the Explorer child cartoon character. She watches the series almost daily via Netflix & knows numerous songs & character lines by heart. Dora was instrumental in Sophia learning how to count to 15 in Spanish as well as introducing her to many Spanish words. Sophia has Dora the Explorer stuffed & plastic dolls, Dora toothbrush & Dora backpack.
It should be no surprise that Sophia also wears Dora pajamas. Only our little girl has not one or two, but 3 sets! My husband who otherwise never shops for kids' clothes decided his little princess needed one light set for summer & another warmer one to wear during winter. Thanks to a recent birthday present from Korean grandma (if you guessed, another Dora pajamas!), there is now no shortage of Dora-inspired clothes at our house!
Daddy's girl!
